A Relaxing Day in Paris

I got this photo from a Swiss friend of mine who's just come back from a weekend in Paris and uploaded some pictures on her Facebook, including this one.

I love how casual and random the French are. Having a chat while sipping champagne, eating lunch and smoking a cigarette.

And of course the bikes are just there with them.

I like something about this photo. It makes me smile :-)

Commuting By Electric Bike: More Fun. Less Effort

Fed up with waiting for trains or buses? Are you constantly stuck in traffic when you drive to work and are really ready for a permanent change?

Have you always thought about riding your bike to work, yet you never do?

Why do you think that is?

Perhaps you do try for a few weeks, but eventually, you end up going back to your old ways and your bike ends up back in the garage collecting dust...

...The problem is, many of us want to live healthier.

We want to travel to work with a more eco-friendly and sustainable way. The reality is though that sometimes it's just too hard.

Cycling is hard. Your legs hurt. You get sweaty. Some days - you just don't feel like it.

I love riding my bike. But I don't feel like riding it right now. I'm nice and comfortable in my apartment and if I had to get on my bike right now - I'd be a tad annoyed.

Enter electric bicycles. With a 25 km/h maximum road speed without pedaling, they can really take the hard work out of cycling.

A recent survey of electric bicycle owners revealed that almost 40% ride their bike at least once a day and 81% use the bike at least once a week. Other research indicates that electric bikes are used at least twice as often as regular bicycles.

Why? My guess is that people quickly realize they are more fun and require less effort and that in the long run, the health benefits they get will be sustainable because they are riding more often. Both to work & on the weekends.

Try one and you'll never go back - not to regular bikes, cars, buses nor trains.
